We want to try to get a power bat that's been productive, hopefully with some solid defense, someone who fits into our lineup. We're out there working to find that guy.

As time has gone on, it's become clear we made a mistake. He has not only increased his power but also improved defensively. I'm accountable for that decision.

We've had a great relationship with Wayne Poston. It's been a real good partnership. We love Bradenton and look forward to being here for many years to come.

To show the power he's shown in the big leagues at this early stage, frankly, is remarkable. You do expect a power hitter to strike out, and I think that's something we're going to have to deal with in the long haul. But we do want him to get better, and I think we're going to need insurance at that position.

He showed some power at the lower minor league levels, but as we got to the time where we had to put him on our roster, he didn't hit many home runs, he showed no power and there were concerns about his defense. We tried him at different positions, but we thought of him more as an American League guy. We didn't see the power that came later. Obviously, we were wrong.
