[Women who have their given name in common with a devastating storm are questioning the hurricane-naming system, reports The New York Times.] How about doing away with [hurricane] names? ... Every time this horrible natural disaster strikes some group of people gets sideswiped. I think we should name hurricanes after vegetables we hate.

Katrina makes it clear this government has failed, ... We must find out why immediately to make sure the devastation caused by Hurricane Katrina never happens again.

If Katrina did anything, it woke people up to the power of Mother Nature. When Katrina hit this country, it was in a city that everyone knew and those folks looking at the TV camera looked like folks we knew.
